Reopening of the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ): What You Need to Know Before July 2, 2026

It’s official: the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ) is being reactivated for a temporary two-year period, starting July 2, 2026. A first application intake period will be open from July 2 to October 31, 2026, in both streams of the program: the Quebec Graduates stream and the Temporary Foreign Workers stream.

This long-awaited reopening represents a real opportunity to access permanent residence for individuals who have studied or worked in Quebec. Please note, however, that to submit an application, you must meet the intake criteria, including having obtained an eligible diploma or having acquired eligible work experience in Quebec as of November 19, 2025. You must then satisfy all of the program’s selection conditions, including the French language proficiency requirements, in order to obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec).

The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) has published an explanatory document that clearly summarizes the intake criteria, the selection conditions for each of the two streams, and the steps involved in the program’s reopening. We invite you to consult it to verify your eligibility and properly prepare your application.

Depending on the number of applications received by October 31, 2026, new intake periods could be opened before the end of the program. If you believe you are eligible, it is therefore strongly recommended that you start preparing your file now.
